Translation in Ukrainian and adaptation of the English questionnaires: scales of meaningful auditory integration (MAIS) and scales of meaningful language use (MUSS) scales for assessing language development in children with deafness after cochlear implantation

Introduction: The world community is concerned with the assessment of speech and hearing development children sensorineural deafness after cochlear implantation, since most important result rehabilitation success social integration such children. In countries world, Meaningful Auditory Integration Scale (MAIS) Use Language (MUSS) are used to assess auditory language loss implantation (CI). Unfortunately, in Ukraine there still no Ukrainian questionnaires for assessing implantation. aim our study was translate MAIS MUSS manuals into Ukrainian, adapt validate them culturally. Materials methods: translation cultural adaptation were English-language versions (MUSS), developed by Nottingham Group Cochlear Implantation, which recognized recommended use all implant manufacturers. Results obtained: evaluation consisted following stages: preparatory stage – collection analysis literature; original texts from English Ukrainian; reversed an independent translator text English; collation comparison questionnaire linguist; Cognitive analysis; field-testing textbooks translated a small group CI; corrections, final revision translations identify correct any grammatical, orthographic other errors. version demonstrated high level internal compliance, testability validity. Conclusions: Given considerable relevance demand ability materials, tests can be as valid process.
